Just as we predicted, Blizzard Entertainment announced the next expansion for World of Warcraft titled 'Cataclysm' at BlizzCon 2009 during the opening ceremonies. No release date has been set yet, but all WoW fans expect it will come up earlier.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will bring a host of features to Azeroth land. The character level cap is up to 85. Two new playable character races are introduced, just as the leak prior to the event goes: the races are Worgen for the Alliance and the Goblins for Horde factions. Azeroth will be revamped, and players have to fight their way through a destroyed and changed Azeroth. A new secondary skill: Archaeology will be introduced. Flying mounts added to main game world of Azeroth. There will be seven new playing zones, new race-class combinations, new monsters, raids and achievements and hundreds of new quests for WoW fans to enjoy.
Attendees at BlizzCon 2009 watched the Cataclysm trailer on Friday, showing the WoW environment partially in ruins, torn apart by tsunamis, tidal waves and volcanic eruptions caused by a dragon rising from beneath the earth. "It looks freaking epic, something that wotlk did not." Said a player.
"I'm confident it will be nothing less than earth-shattering," Chris Metzen, Blizzard,s vice president of development, "It will very literally change the world of Azeroth as you know it." "There can be no peace when the world itself is devoured by rage," the trailer proclaimed. "The world will never be the same."
