A few days ago, the developers of EVE Online made the controversial announcement that they were going to be moving the minimum specifications for their spacefaring epic to ShaderModel 2 then eventually to ShaderModel 3 later in the year. While the upgrade to ShaderModel 2 wasn't a big deal, many laptop users still don't have the capacity to play a game in ShaderModel 3. But hope is not lost! The developers have heard your cries and have decided to not push the minimum spec above ShaderModel 2 this year. On March 10th, after the Apocrypha expansion, having a graphics card that supports ShaderModel 2 will be the minimum to run EVE.
