According to the report, the designer Dave Perry, known for titles like Earthworm Jim, MDK, and Messiah, and now the co-founder of a the future game streaming service Gakai, posted a rather cool picture on his blog: World of Warcraft running on the iPad.

According to Perry, they have the game streaming from a Gaikai server over regular Wifi. And although he didn't talk about how well it worked, it's a promising tease for WoW players and/or iPad owners. "We're really interested to see what works well with streaming and will be trying just about every genre of game, on every device possible as we explore server-side computing," he added in his post.

I can't wait until I'm grouped with someone seemingly incompetent and they explain it with "I'm playing on my iPad."

I can't imagine controls being that great or responsive on the ipad, let alone playing wow over a VNC-like connection. This could create a class of player potentially worse than the "keyboard turner"

First off this is not really wow running on a ipad it is being stream over the net,(so the game being run off a server that is doing Most of the work)still i have give kudos to dave perry for it running,i like to see some vids of it maybe and more games not just wow,makes me wonder how far off is it before we have mobiles using snapdragons and tegras running this type of applications?

WoW is an MMO, which takes up years of your life. If you want to stare at an ipad for the next 3-4 years and haven't tried WoW out yet here's your chance! personally I will never play the game and I think everyone who does is a bit obsessive in someway or another. No doubt rpg's are addictive, I play them all the time just not WoW... Yet another great app for the ipad.
