WoW Raiding Change in Upcoming Cataclysm

Players will not be able to run a 10-man version of a raid with their guild for example, and then PUG a 25-man straight after as Blizzard has announced that they are combining the raid lockouts for both the 10-Man and 25-Man raids.

The changes are straight forward, the loot aspect of the game. 10-man guilds & raids will no longer feel left out as 10-man versions of the bosses will drop the same loot as the 25-man version of the same boss, the only real advantage the 25-man raid will have is that it will drop more loot than the 10-man version.

Bullet points from the announcement includes what they have highlighted above, and smaller information such as that the content will continue to be gated, Normal & Courageous version of bosses will be on a per-boss basis, the same as Icecrown Citadel works now, & that the first few raid tiers could be smaller raids with 5-6 bosses which can be done with end-game dungeon blues & crafted items.

Blizzard stated from day one of Wrath that their goal was to allow as much of the playerbase as possible to experience the raiding content, hence the changes/zone-buffs etc. The whole Naxx in Vanilla WoW and < 10% of the player base getting to experience it thing still stings a bit. That aside, like all the other changes proposed for Cataclysm this may still yet evolve to another point all together closer to/during the (inevitable) beta test.
